Katy Day is an undergraduate student at the University of Maryland, studying English literature and Creative Writing. She studied English at Howard Community College, where she served as a staff writer for the school’s newspaper, HCC Times. Her work has been published in HCC’s journal, The Muse. She is also the assistant online editor for HoCoPoLitSo (Howard County Poetry and Literature Society). She likes to think of her current stage in writing as the equivalent of an adolescent, just trying to figure out where she belongs. She has attempted to write nearly everything; poetry, short fiction, novel length fiction, fan fiction, memoirs, essays, blog posts, newspaper articles, text messages, emails, food orders at her waitressing job, and more. She has even tried her hand at spoken word storytelling and performance poetry. If she could describe herself in five words they would be: indecisive, lucky, unlucky, mortal, and flammable.

Cruising through the murky water on an Inner Harbor water tour brings to mind the intervals from historic events.
